About Me
Hi, I’m Manuel — a storyteller, bridge-builder, and cultural explorer.
I was born and raised in Germany, with no direct roots in Serbia — but with a growing curiosity for what lies beyond the headlines. What started as a distant interest quickly turned into a passion: uncovering the human side of Serbia, through its people, its traditions, its sports, and its food.
Why Bridging Serbia?
I created Bridging Serbia to explore and highlight the richness of Serbian life from a unique perspective — that of an outsider with deep respect and admiration for the culture. My goal is to give voice to both everyday moments and extraordinary stories, connecting Germans, Serbians, and an international audience through understanding.
Many of the stories featured on this site are based on real, unaltered interviews with Serbian individuals in both Germany and Serbia — including authors, diplomats, restaurateurs, and members of the wider Serbian community. These authentic voices are presented as they were shared, preserving their words and perspectives in full.
In addition to these real-life accounts, the site also includes a small number of creative stories generated with the help of AI — carefully designed to explore Serbian culture, tradition, and identity in a narrative format. These fictional pieces complement the real interviews and aim to deepen the overall portrait of Serbia.
What You’ll Find Here
You’ll read about traditional dishes and modern sports heroes, village rituals and urban life, Serbian pride and hospitality — all framed from my point of view as someone discovering Serbia with open eyes and a curious mind.
Whether you're Serbian, German, both, or neither — you're welcome here.
